Picture Analysis

Group Shot

At Home

Live shots/posed shots/ Impromptu shots. Impromptu shots are camera shots that are off the cuff, not planned at all.

Posed shots are where the cameraman directs the talent on what to do and how to look for the photo. Can also include the use of props.

Mis-eu-scene is very important in photos. Mis-eu-scene means everything in the shot.

Lighting, body position and facial expressions. Clothes. Proxemics. Make up.

Camera angles are also very important.

Posed shots are time consuming, expensive and can look forced. However it does guarantee a good shot and you can manipulate the shot to how you want.  Have to carry around a lot of equipment for posted shots.

Impromptu shots show more personality/feeling. Shots can’t be reliable, rarely take the perfect impromptu shot. Live and impromptu shots let you always get the unexpected. Difference between a good photograph and a piece of art.
